The Shirley Lanham Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
is composed of an Executive Board and a General Board. The Executive
Board consists of four elected officers and the General Board consists
of a number of appointed chairpersons.
The
PTO actively supports Lanham Elementary School and provides several
fund raising functions throughout the school year. The PTO's major fundraising
events include an annual Fall Bazaar and a Spring Carnival.
The
Lanham PTO provides a myriad of services and activities for the benefit
and enjoyment of our students, parents and the community ~ often including
free movies for students on in-service days, book fairs, grade level
programs, hayrides, dances, Open House, Halloween parades and costume
contests, a school store and a much appreciated volunteer program.
All
parents are encouraged and invited to join the PTO and are welcome at
all meetings. A PTO membership drive is held at the beginning of each
school year, during which time parents and community members can sign-up
to help plan and participate in committees and activities throughout
the school year.
